Ensconced by Love's Serpent

Ensconced by Love’s Serpent

Here am I ensconced

By love”s serpent

A snake,

An ancestor

Slithering on our native soil

Leaving stomach prints for us to follow our dreams

Locked up

Hiding from Covid 19 we trace back

In search of our muses

To lead us into a wider world

Pandemic free

Full of laughter and love

And leisure – though enforced

Bring out our harps and koras

Let’s hold a vigil for Covid’s death

As we prepare obituaries

As dawn breaks into morning

And a new day emerges

After nights of fertile dreams

We emerge full of hope and love!
