Swimming Against the Tide of Love

Swimming Against the Tide of Love

Caught in the jaws of corruption

We swim against the tide of love

Down in the bottom of the sea

Where pearls glitter side by side

With sexually excited sharks

We catch reflections of black hands looting

Just as colonisers did

They have changed their colour

And taken our family names

Coloniality rides them like inkanyamba

Even as we wilt under the onslaught of Covid 19
